CASS aviation First Aid training courses are suitable for single cabin crew situations in general, private and business aviation, and for multi-crew operations in commercial airline environments, including regional airlines.

Courses will be tailored to your specific requirements, and will incorporate your company’s operational procedures and on-board equipment.

Each course includes theoretical and practical training using appropriate equipment, including full-size resuscitation manikins.

Elements covered in the course include:

• Aviation medicine theory
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Automatic External Defibrillator training (AED)
• Bandaging and bleeding control
• In-flight medical assistance, including chest pain, nausea, fainting, allergic reaction, diabetes, epilepsy management
• Oxygen administration
• Recognition and treatment of hypoxia
• The role of the Primary, Communicator and Assist cabin crew member during airline in-flight medical emergencies
• Single cabin crew member procedures during in-flight medical emergencies
• Use of aircraft first aid and physician kits (specific to operator and aircraft type).

Additional elements that are covered if required include:

• Assisting customers with physical disabilities
• Physician kits – policy and procedures
• Working with medical professionals (including making PAs for medical assistance).

We provide:

Corcoran Aviation Safety Services will provide a fully qualified trainer, course materials and training aids (e.g. handouts, resuscitation equipment, on-board medical equipment, aircraft first aid and physician kits, first aid manikin).

Each participant will receive an in-flight medical assistance booklet and credit-card sized CPR prompt card.

You provide:

You will need to provide appropriate classroom space in which theoretical learning can be delivered, and where practical role-playing training can take place.

Qualification/Compliance:

Certificate of Qualification on successful completion of the basic or advanced course. CPR qualification is valid for 1 year, First Aid qualification for 3 years (in accordance with Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines).
